January Call for Legislation
When I was elected, I made a pledge to be accessible to my constituents, and that’s something I try to live up to every day. Whether it’s through our citizens’ advisory committees, town hall meetings, open forums, or by talking to constituents at their doorstep or on the phone, I try to be as accessible as possible. And now, I am asking for your feedback.
With the Spring legislative session beginning in January, it’s the time of year when I can submit ideas to be drafted into bills. Last year, some of my bills were aimed at reducing crime, lowering the tax burden on working families, and banning electronic cigarettes for minors. And while we took action on marriage equality, pension reform and Medicaid expansion, there is a lot of work that remains and a lot of problems that need solved.
I believe it is important to me that I advocate for the issues that my constituents feel need to be addressed. Therefore, I welcome any resident who has an idea for possible legislation to please contact my office to share their thoughts. As I walk door-to-door, many folks have a problem they would like to see addressed and it is my goal to seek action to resolve those problems when possible.
If you have any idea to share or a specific problem with state government that we can work on, please let me know your thoughts.
There are a lot of ways you can reach out to me: on the phone at 708-562-6970, through the e-mail at email@example.com, in person or through mail at 112 N. Wolf Rd., Northlake, IL 60164.
