Willis Launches Cell Phones for Soldiers Drive

NORTHLAKE, Ill. – Continuing her efforts to honor and assist those serving in our nation’s armed forces, state Rep. Kathleen Willis (D-Addison) is collecting cell phones for her Cell Phones for Soldiers drive.

“By collecting used cell phones we can help our proud soldiers connect with their families,” said Willis. “Each donated cell phone provides a member of the military with almost three hours of talk time with their loved ones back home. I am incredibly proud to be participating in this program and encourage residents to donate their old phones.”

Cell Phones for Soldiers is a non-profit organization that has raised millions of dollars in donations. The organization delivers approximately 12,000 free calling cards to our soldiers on a weekly basis. Collected equipment will be sold to Mindful eCycling and the proceeds are used to purchase calling cards that are given to U.S. military personnel serving around the world. Cell phones and chargers can be donated and recycled at Representative Willis' district office located at 112 N. Wolf Road during normal business hours:

Monday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Tuesday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Wednesday: 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Thursday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Friday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

First Saturday of the month: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM

“This is a small and easy way to help the dedicated men and women who serve in our military,” Willis said. “Servicemen and women do so much to protect our country and this is a helpful way to give back. I hope the community will join me in supporting this wonderful cause.”
