Willis Hosts Property Tax Workshop for Area Residents

12/31/1969
NORTHLAKE, Ill. – Over 100 area residents attended a Property Tax Appeals Workshop held by state Rep. Kathleen Willis (D-Addison) in partnership with the Cook County Assessor’s Office on Monday, June 29.

“I am so glad that we were able to help out many members of our community through this event,” Willis said. “Nobody should be forced to pay more than their fair share in property taxes. Our property taxes are too high as it is, and I will continue fighting for reforms that freeze property taxes.”

Officials from the Cook County Assessor’s Office were in attendance to help residents understand the process of appealing the assessed value of their homes. By appealing the assessed value of their homes, many area residents will have their assessed value reduced and their total property tax bills might be lowered as a result.

Kathleen Willis is serving her second term in the Illinois General Assembly as State Representative of the 77th District, which includes O’Hare Airport and portions of Addison, Bellwood, Bensenville, Franklin Park, Maywood, Melrose Park, Northlake, Stone Park, and Wood Dale.
