Willis’ Upcoming Senior Citizens Advisory Committee to Feature Presentation from AARP

NORTHLAKE, Ill. – State Rep. Kathleen Willis (D-Addison) will be hosting representatives from the AARP at her upcoming Senior Citizens' Advisory Committee on Wednesday, July 31st at 10:00 AM at her district office, located at 112 N. Wolf Road in Northlake.

"There have been some major changes lately related to the health care, property taxes and programs that are geared towards older residents and sometimes it can be a little overwhelming just trying to navigate through the information,” Willis said. "One of the reasons I have formed our senior citizens' advisory committee is to help residents by working to bring resources directly to them. I think our guest speaker from the AARP will add a new perspective and provide a useful recounting of what’s
happening in Springfield and Washington."

Willis' Senior Advisory Committee meets on a regular basis and is open to the public. Residents interested in attending but who have questions are urged to call Willis' district office at 708-562-6970.

"Our senior advisory committee meetings have been successful in helping me to better communicate
with local residents and to be more informed about issues they are concerned about at the local and
state levels," Willis added. "It is very difficult to effectively advocate for our region if I don’t hear
from those I represent, which is why I regularly hold public meetings and knock on hundreds of doors
each week."

Kathleen Willis is serving her first term in the Illinois General Assembly as State Representative of the
77th District, which includes O’Hare Airport and portions of Addison, Bellwood, Bensenville, Franklin
Park, Maywood, Melrose Park, Northlake, Stone Park, and Wood Dale.
