Willis, Harmon Help Residents Discard Paper Backlog During Joint Shred Day

NORTHLAKE, Ill. – State Rep. Kathleen Willis, D-Northlake, and state Sen. Don Harmon, D-Oak Park, helped residents responsibly dispose of sensitive information and old papers at their joint Shred Day event Saturday.

“I am glad to help residents in any way that I can, and shred day events never disappoint,” Willis said. “My office staff and I work to make peoples’ lives better and easier, and providing free services is one great way to accomplish to do that.”

Willis and Harmon helped dozens of residents shred their personal information with the assistance of Cook County’s Sheriff’s Recycling Program this past weekend. Identity thieves are always looking for opportunities to hack or steal someone else’s personal information for their own gain. Free community shred days often help residents prevent theft from occurring as materials are responsibly and securely eliminated.
