Rep. Willis and Congressman Quigley to Host Senior Law Workshop For Local Residents

NORTHLAKE, Ill. – State Rep. Kathleen Willis, D-Addison, and Congressman Mike Quigley, D-Chicago, will be hosting a Senior Legal workshop at the Northlake Library on Thursday, April 5th at 10:30 am at the Northlake Public Library located at 231 North Wolf Road.

“I hope local senior citizens can attend this free event to learn about some important legal processes that are meant to help people remain financially secure in their retirement years,” said Willis. “I want to make sure that I am bringing as many resources into the community as possible for local residents and I hope this event will be helpful.”

During the event, attendees will be able to learn about the importance and processes surrounding estate planning, powers of attorney related to healthcare and property, as well as living will declarations. Experts will be on hand to answer questions and provide some much needed guidance. Attendees will also have an opportunity to ask questions and meet other residents in the community. Rep. Willis said that she wanted to partner with Congressman Quigley because of the many questions her office receives about these legal practices.

“Going door to door and talking to constituents, it became clear to me that many seniors want to know more about these legal procedures but may not feel comfortable reaching out to a lawyer,” said Willis. “I want to host this event so people can feel comfortable coming forward and asking the questions they need answered.
