Willis Encourages Businesses to Apply for EDGE Tax Credit Program

NORTHLAKE, Ill. – To encourage job growth and help businesses grow, state Rep. Kathleen Willis, D-Addison, is encouraging local companies to apply for the Economic Development for a Growing Economy Tax Credit Program (EDGE), which was recently reinstated and is open for applications.

“Many middle-class families in my district are struggling and the best way to lift-up Illinois is by encouraging job creation and incentivizing businesses to expand,” Willis said. “The EDGE tax credit program is one more way we can revitalize the community and create good-paying jobs right here in our area.”

Willis helped pass House Bill 162, which reauthorized the EDGE tax credit program, to encourage companies to build new locations or expand operations within Illinois. Through tax credits, the EDGE tax credit program incentivizes job creation and capital investment for businesses.

“With the reauthorization of the EDGE tax credit program, I know that we can do more to help our communities,” Willis said. “Through this and other legislation, I will continue fighting to protect and expands jobs in Illinois.”

To apply for an EDGE Tax Credit, reach out to the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity at CEO.EDGE@Illinois.gov.

Willis is serving her third term in the Illinois General Assembly as State Representative of the 77th District, which includes O’Hare Airport and portions of Addison, Bellwood, Bensenville, Franklin Park, Maywood, Melrose Park, Northlake, Stone Park, and Wood Dale.
