Public Safety Advisory Committee Meeting
NORTHLAKE, Ill. – State Rep. Kathleen Willis (D-Addison) hosted a roundtable meeting with local police and fire officials to discuss public safety initiatives prior to the upcoming legislative session in Springfield.
“As State Representative and the wife of a retired-disabled firefighter, the safety and security of our residents and first responders is a top priority,” said Willis. “I want to make sure the safety needs of our police and fire departments are being met in order to allow them to perform their duties with confidence.”
Some of the issues discussed include increased gun violence, first responder safety and community healthcare. Willis also briefed attendees about her plans to forward legislative ideas gathered from the new mobile integrated healthcare task force, which she co-chairs.
“Keeping a community safe requires teamwork,” said Willis. “I look forward to working with local police and fire officials, as well as my constituents, this upcoming session to tackle the public safety issues we face every day.”
Kathleen Willis is serving her third term in the Illinois General Assembly as State Representative of the 77th District, which includes O’Hare Airport and portions of Addison, Bellwood, Bensenville, Franklin Park, Maywood, Melrose Park, Northlake, Stone Park, and Wood Dale.
